Our family hobby and eventually business began approximately 50 years ago. We are rock hounds. Our family, many years ago, had one of the largest rock shops on the East coast. After college, the military, and a successful start in the field of hospital financial administration I too decided to go into the rock business. In 1978 we incorporated and opened our first permanent retail location, the Treasure Hut, at Shoppingtown Mall in Syracuse, NY. When you sell stones someone will want you to make a piece of jewelry. I have learned over the past 35 years to construct hand made jewelry from silver and gold, set stones and do almost any task related to jewelry. I cut stones, fix complicated antique jewelry, string beads and even repair metal broken glasses frames etc. It’s really still my hobby and I enjoy it.
The incredible jewelry clasps have been developed over a period of three years. They are constructed of sterling silver with a rhodium finish and may be purchased with a bright or satin finish. The jewelry clasps have been test marketed for two years and every store has reordered them after successful initial sales.
The two part clasp is held together with a soldered pin between the two parts. It is noteworthy that the leaf clasp has a larger circle where the beads pass thru than the rose clasp allowing the leaf clasp to be used for larger beads and the rose for the smaller size beads. The clasp is also useful for abstract shapes of beads and is a wonderful makeover for old beads or pearls. It is very important to note how easy the clasp is to use. People with arthritic fingers love the clasp. It also holds better than other magnetic jewelry clasps because after the clasp is closed the beads don’t pull directly on the magnet pulling it apart.
